“She Wolf” is targeted mainly for the dance-club groups. Almost all the songs, including the title track “She Wolf”, have a touch of pop and hip-hop style. The songs in the album attract one to the dance floor. The tracks in her new album have gone for a softer tone and the change fromrock to pop is distinctly evident.
It comes as a disappointment to all the enthusiasts of Shakira who have always loved her trademark Latin rock style and have been probably waiting for a rock style album. But “She Wolf” doesn’t entertain them much. The fans miss the typical style that has made Shakira famous for.
To all who might be thinking to buy “She Wolf” CD with a hope to have Shakira’s magic all over again… don’t buy it if you are looking for Shakira’s rock! Because it is anything but rock… and to be precise “a pure pop”!
