This light but robust camcorder is capable of storing up to 45 hours of movies on the on board 60GB drive. It is the DCR-SR37ES model from Sony. The widesreen touch panel LCD is 2.7 inches in size which makes for easy content viewing. The onboard zoom microphone makes a fine job of picking up the dialogue of your subjects and filtering out all the background noise. The lens made by Carl Zeiss contains a powerful 60x optical and up to 2000x digital zoom.
When not using a tripod you can shake the cam if you are not careful even when you are shooting a still object. The Sony DCRSR37ES camcorder contains a SteadyShot feature which ensures that all your shots will be shake free. This is especially important when using the powerful zoom to zero in on details. The camera’s sound features allow you to record in close up too by using the super smart microphone which can zero in on the sounds you require such as your subjects voices.
Sharing your content with the Sony DCRSR37ES is very simple and fast too. You can burn your content to a DVD by simply transfering it to your PC with the supplied USB 2.0 connection. It is even possible to burn from the camera without a PC if you are out and about. You need to buy the optional portable DVD burner for this though and that will connect direct to the camera.
Managing your movie collection is hugely simplified by the software which is included with the SR37. Just install it on your PC and it provides a perfect archive for your films which are all just a click or two away. You can arrange them by date, by person, and search through them quickly. The camera can of course be connected directly to your TV for large screen viewing and the content can easliy be burned from within the archive or uploaded directly to the internet.
